want, when you want, where you want.

Easy:
You can log in, search our database or calendar for
the projects you want, and hit “Sign
Me Up” or "Have Agency Contact Me"

Flexible:
We boast a variety of projects and
organizations, working with all
kinds of people for all kinds of
causes. The projects also run
throughout the week – mornings,
evenings,
weekdays, weekends.
Fun:
We are committed to making community
service meaningful, rewarding, and
enjoyable. Our projects are
“hands-on” and high-impact, and
you’ll be working alongside dynamic
people who share an interest in
helping others. We facilitate
reflection activities that can teach
you more about yourself, your
community, and how you can answer
its needs.
Teachers!!
This is a great resource
to hand out to students. For more information, see our
volunteer guide,
which takes you from inspiration to

Things to remember:
-
You must be 14 or older to
register yourself on the Hands
On Sacramento website. Younger volunteers can have
their parent or guardian
register, find them exciting
projects, and sign them up.
-
In some cases, projects require
a minimum age for volunteers or
an accompanying parent or
guardian at the project. You
should be notified about this
when you sign up for a project,
but if you are unsure, ask
HOS directly or email the agency.
-
If you are under 18, all you
need to do is bring a copy of
our youth waiver signed by
a parent or guardian to the
project, and you are good to
go! Download the youth waiver
here.
-
You can search our database for
age-appropriate projects. At
the bottom of our “Advanced
Search” page, you can enter
your age and we’ll find a
project ideal for you.
