Making an indelible impact on the community
PL’s are the
eyes and ears (and brains and muscle)
of HOS, and more importantly, of the
community. We train and support them, but
ultimately, they are making the difference.
Project Leaders find this immensely rewarding.
One thing they love is our flexibility in
locating a project they want to lead or helping
them to create a new one.
Want to teach an
art class for kids? Organize a Bingo Night for
muscular dystrophy patients? Throw birthday
parties for seniors? Whatever your ideas, we
can help them become reality.
To become
a PL,
you need to have participated in at least three
projects with Hands On Sacramento.
Project Leader trainings are held throughout
the year. PL's may lead a variety of projects,
but they are encouraged to identify a project
they will commit to or to develop a new project
in an area of interest.
We are always
looking for new Project Leaders. It's a great
way to hone your leadership skills and support
Hands On Sacramento in a very important way.

“We all underestimate how powerful it feels to know that
someone out in the world cares about you,
acknowledges you, and celebrates you! I want
the children at the shelter to know that
feeling. Seeing them come alive and be children
in that moment is worth all the time recruiting,
soliciting, brainstorming, and planning."
